Research topics:
  • Experimental verification of quantum theories of the electron stimulated desorption (ESD) phenomenon for gas on metals and gas on semiconductors adsorption systems,
  • Investigation of desorption induced by electron transitions (DIET) for dissociation products of water on silver, as well as the oxygen desorption from the titanium oxide,
  • Investigation of the surface localized electronic structure of the transitons metals and transition metals oxides,
  • Investigation of the current noise of the secondary electron emission, in particular the current noise of the elastic peak.
Methods of investigation:
  • Desorption Induced by Electron Transitions (DIET),
  • Electron Stimulated Desorption (ESD),
  • Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES),
  • Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (EELS),
  • Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED),
  • Inelastic Low Energy Electron Diffraction (ILEED).
Equipment:
  • 3 Ultra high vacuum equipment (UHV) (work at the pressures lower than 10-9 Pa),
  • Quadrupole mass spectrometer QSM 156 SECO, by RIBER,
  • Monopole mass spectrometer of the CMA type,
  • Ultra high vacuum scaning tunneling microscope (STM), with a fast-lock-sample-transportation system, by OMICRON.
